"STUDENTS' UNION" means any University or College Students' Union marketing staff
"USER ACCOUNT" means a registered account opened by a site user
"LOCAL CLIENT" means any party that is a client of a Students' Union that deals directly with a Students' Union
"THE WEB SITE" means the site accessible through www.thestudentmediagroup.co.uk and any additional sites that may be provided by The SMGroup.

2.2 Users' email addresses, usernames and passwords are strictly confidential and personal to each User and may not be used by anyone else.
2.3 Users will not assist any third party who is not a registered user to gain access to any of the members-only areas of the web site.
2.4 Sharing of user accounts is strictly prohibited and disclosure of your username and password to a third party will be considered a breach of the Computer Misuse Act (1990).

3.4 You agree that the Students' Union and University media booking facilities of this Web Site shall be used only to make legitimate booking form requests or enquiries for the User or for another person or business for whom you are legally authorised to act.
3.5 Users understand that abuse of the media booking facilities of the Web Site may result in the User being denied access to such facilities
3.6 Without limitation, any speculative, false or fraudulent bookings or enquiries are prohibited.
3.7 By selecting a university/universities in the Account Preferences, Users agree that representatives from those University or Students' Unions may contact them according to their indicated preferences for such purposes as providing information on media availability, responding to Users' requests, communicating with a User, enabling and fulfilling Users' orders and for the purpose of any other general University or Students' Union marketing activity.
3.8 Where indication is given by a user that contact by chosen universities using a particular method is permissible, this will be regarded as sufficient to comply with the requirements of any legistaltion in force requiring prior permission to contact using the indicated method(s). This covers and is not limited to any requirements to comply with Telephone Preference Service legislation.
3.9 Contacting preferences are the responsibility of the user to maintain.
4.1 The Student Media Group will use the highest ethical standards and will respect users privacy.
4.2 User Account personal information is only available to the marketing departments of those Students' Unions selected in Personal Preferences. Please take a look at our privacy policy for further information.
4.3 The SMGroup will ensure that all personal details are held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Company's published privacy statement.
4.4 Personal information relating to accounts may be used by The SMGroup solely for the purpose of the administration of the account.
4.5 We understand that use of personal information for any other purpose may be a criminal offence under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
5.1 Our service is based on information provided by Students' Unions and Universities.
5.2 The SMGroup uses reasonable endeavours to check the accuracy of information published on this Web Site.

7.1 Site users may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, content, products or services obtained from this Web Site.
8.1 The SMGroup agrees not to contact, at any time, the local clients of Students' Unions using the Web Site, unless specifically authorised to do so in advance and in writing, by the Students' Union in question, to discuss administrative matters for example.
8.2 Where specific authority has been granted by a University or Students' Union for The SMGroup to contact one or more of their local clients, The SMGroup undertakes to limit the nature of the contact to administration relating to the Web Site.
8.3 The SMGroup undertakes not to discuss any marketing-related issues with Universities or Students' Unions' local clients, regardless of whether they have given the SMGroup authority to contact that client.
8.4 The SMGroup agrees not to pass information relating to the local clients of Students' Unions using the Web Site to third parties.
9.1 Universities and Students' Unions using this Web Site give The SMGroup express permission to contact them by e-mail, which may or may not be automated, by telephone, by facsimile or by post.
9.2 Universities and Students' Unions submitting their local client list(s) for use within the Client Management facility of the web site please note that all details of local clients are held in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Use for any other purpose may be a criminal offence under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.
9.3 It is the responsibility of the Students Union to ensure that they comply with the contacting preferences indicated by registered users. Failure to observe a user's contacting preferences may cause a breach of the Telephone Preference Service legislation or similar and will be the responsibility of the Students' Union inviolved.
