Advising Clients Recruiting Students on Campus
Student Media Group staff have been advising advertisers and recruiters
on how to maximise the impact of their student campaigns since 1995.
Whilst recruitment campaigns are similar in some ways to general advertising
campaigns, it's important to recognise the differences because they can have a
significant impact on a campaigns success.
In particular, we need to bear in mind that:
- The vast majority of advertising campaigns are designed to persuade students either to use a
service, to buy a product, or both. Recruitment campaigns are asking students to do something
much more serious;
- Advertisers put their products on show during campaigns - recruiters put themselves on show;
- The "product" recruiters are promoting - themselves - is a far more complex proposition;
- For recruiters, presentations and events are often a very important part of their activities on
campus. The ability to plan and control logistics effectively is therefore critical.
" We found them pretty unique as a marketing consultancy. They are refreshingly
reliable, honest and sensitive to the needs of the client as well as the sponsor. They deliver exactly
what they promise, when they promise it. It helps that they obviously know the education business as well
as they know the commercial world. Their results speak for themselves... there's no doubt we'll use them again."
